Bruce McCarthy

Having spent a lifetime as a builder and innovator, Bruce has a passion for understanding customer needs and creating compelling solutions. He has founded three companies and has led teams in organizations ranging from startups to market leaders such as Art Technology Group, Oracle and D&B. His executive-level positions include, most recently, VP of Product at NetProspex. He has demonstrated his leadership in areas ranging from marketing to acquisitions (on both sides of the table) to product management and development. A dedicated evangelist for better products and product management, Bruce founded UpUp Labs in 2012. Through it, he offers consulting services and applies his expertise to building innovative new product management tools like Reqqs the forthcoming smart roadmapping tool. Bruce is also a prolific blogger on product management topics, as well as an organizer and popular speaker at product management, development, and innovation events.

Greg Rublev
Vice President

Greg is a seasoned entrepreneur known for his innovative work with web-based products and SEO. During his early days in software consulting, Greg had developed the patent-pending technology platform that runs on. Over the next 14 years he launched web based products and online marketing campaigns at 6 venture-backed companies, and started two companies of his own. He joined again in 2014 as COO to oversee technology, product management, marketing and operations of the company. Greg is an avid crossfitter and a runner. He is also a 3-time high school foosball champion, amateur salsa dancer and pretty good snowboarder.

Erin McHugh Saif

Erin is a product leader in the areas of Business Intelligence, Analytics and Cloud Business Services with extensive product management experience across several diverse industries (Cloud BI, Data Visualization, CRM systems, Business Analytics and Nonprofit Management). Erin has deep experience leading organizations through on-premises to Cloud product transformations, including waterfall to agile development methodology, license to subscription pricing transformation, engineering to development operations practices and most important, evolving to a simple, effective and delightful self-service trial, purchase and user experience. Erin currently serves as a Senior Product Manager of Cloud products at TIBCO. She manages TIBCO's Spotfire Cloud SaaS and PaaS data visualization products. She recently led a senior executive leadership team to define and design TIBCO Spotfire's next generation Cloud Business Services Architecture.
Erin has a BA in English and Political Science from Wellesley College. She is passionate about giving back and has served in a Board or Advisory capacity to CARE International, The ONE Campaign and ArtsBoston.

Andrew Shepard

Andrew develops and implements product and company strategies to improve profitability throughout the value chain. Andrew has extensive experience across the Transportation, Appliance, Paper, and Hi-Tech industries. Andrew is recognized for his success as a Six-sigma Black Belt and Kaizen facilitator. As a Global Director of Market Management at Hollingsworth & Vose, Andrew is researching, designing and leading strategic long-range plans, internal process improvements and innovative new product introductions. He holds an MBA with Highest Honors from Boston University and a Double Major, Engineering and English, from Dartmouth College.

Justin Bakst
Assistant Treasurer

Justin Bakst has considerable experience delivering value driven solutions in the Financial Services Industry. As a Managing Director at Darling Consulting Group, Justin currently oversees all elements of product management, operations, marketing and the go to market strategy of a data analytics business intelligence platform. Justin is a writer, speaker, and contributor to several professional organizations including the American Banking Association Journal and Financial Managers Society. Justin is actively involved in the BPMA through the Product Executive Forum, Product Camp and his most recent role on the Board as the Assistant Treasurer. Justin has a BS in Finance from Bentley University and an MBA from Babson College Olin Graduate School of Business.

Ed Arnold
Co-Directors of Program Planning

Ed Arnold is Vice President Products of LeveragePoint, a Software as a Service platform for customer value management including value-based selling and value-based pricing. He is one of the founding employees of LeveragePoint when it spun-out of the Monitor Group in 2009. Ed started his career in management consulting, and has worked for a number of firms including Diamond Technology and OmniTech Consulting Group. Later, he pivoted to the software industry working with e-learning start-ups and then for Communispace. Ed has an MBA from the Stern School of Business at New York University and holds BA and MA degrees in Political Science from Boston University. In 2015 he served as the Survey and Registrations lead for Boston ProductCamp.

Greg Ayres
Director of Staffing

Greg Ayres is a Senior Product Manager at Brainshark, Inc. He has extensive experience across the Health Care, Energy, Transportation, and Defense industries. Greg is recognized for his success through certifications from the Project Management Institute and Pragmatic Marketing. In his spare time Greg donates his energy and effort to a nonprofit that helps Boston Public School students grow personally and succeed academically. Greg holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, an MS in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University, and a BSE in Mechanical Engineering, with a Certificate in Public & International Affairs, from Princeton University.

Jim Berets
Director of Partnerships

Jim Berets develops and executes product strategies; he has been a product manager, a product executive, and a product management consultant with responsibilities including market research, competitive analysis, product strategy and roadmapping, user experience, pricing, and Customer Advisory Boards. Jim has worked with companies from early-stage startups to established billion dollar companies. He is currently Application Ecosystem Director at Red Hat. Previously, Jim led product management at Black Duck Software, Knumi, and CO Space (acquired by Internap). Before becoming a product manager, Jim created and ran a worldwide pre-sales team and was a software developer and development manager at BBN. Jim earned an SBEE degree from MIT; an MSEE from the UC, Berkeley; and a CSS in management from Harvard. In addition to his Partnerships role with the BPMA, Jim is a mentor and a member of the Product Executives Forum.

Lorelei Fara
Director of Membership

Lorelei Fara is a digital product leader with 15 years of experience across product management and marketing. Lorelei is passionate about developing and launching first-to-market products that are elegant, effective, scalable and centered around the customer experience. In her various roles from business strategy consultant to entrepreneur to product leader, she held responsibilities for market research and competitive analysis, product strategy, concept market validation, launch strategy, product development Agile and waterfall, organizational alignment and Voice of Customer. Lorelei has been recognized for her unique blend of strong analytical and creative thinking and ability to motivate teams. Lorelei has worked for companies from small to global (startup, Fraunhofer Institute, EnerNOC, IBM) and developed enterprise-scale software solutions in various industries (energy, finance, healthcare). She enjoys tremendously and is an active participant in the startup environment in Boston. Lorelei earned an MBA from Babson College and a double Masters, in Physics and Engineering Management, from Dartmouth College. Originally from Romania, Lorelei has enjoyed for the last two decades all that New England has to offer, particularly the Maine coast for kayaking. In her role on the BPMA board, Lorelei is focused on growing the member base and engagement.

Vanessa Ferranto
Director of Online Content

Vanessa Ferranto is an established software product management professional with experience in developing Product and Agile processes within growing B2B and B2C digital teams. She has a passion for defining customer solutions that emphasize user experience across native, responsive web and analytic products, and is currently responsible for global new member acquisition solutions at Zipcar. Vanessa was part of the original team to deliver BPMA’s blog, ProductHub. As Director of Online Content, she works with leading product management, marketing and user experience professionals to publish content as a growing resource for the Boston product community.

Kamal Hans
Director of Web

Kamal is data driven strategic marketer, entrepreneur and technologist with more than 16 years of highly enriching work experience in globally renowned firms like Ericsson, LG Electronics, Dyn, and Airvana. He is a successful motivator who thrives on challenging opportunities that require broad technical expertise, team development, and product management into new areas. Through his immense experience in technical product management, product based software development and systems validation, Kamal has interacted with clients across U.S and East South Asia and designed solutions that have improved their business efficiencies. He is working actively on Coliens, an App to connect corporate professionals at a personal level. Kamal is a Certified Agile Product Manager, Scrum Master, Agile Coach and holds a Master degree in general management from Harvard University.

Janet Lee
Co-Directors of Program Planning

Janet is VP of Product at TimeTrade. Her passion is working with customers and technology and user experience teams to drive rapid product innovation. Janet has held product leadership roles at Lattice Engines, Oracle, and ProfitLogic. She was named one of 20 Women to Watch in Sales Lead Management in 2013 and 2014. In her free time, Janet can be found running up Heartbreak Hill, browsing new recipes on Serious Eats, or listening to the latest Serial podcast.

Conor O'Mahony
Director of Employer & Recruiter Relations

Conor leads great teams to build great products. Currently, Conor leads Product Management for SilverRail Technologies, who are a fast-growing start-up with offices in Boston, London, Stockholm, and Brisbane. Previously, Conor had General Management, Product Management, and Product Marketing leadership roles in companies large and small. He has experience leading Sales, Marketing, Support, Product, Design, and Development organizations. Conor lives in Belmont with his energetic young family, and enjoys running, hiking, and camping.

Cait Porte
Director of Mentorship

Cait is the Director of Product Management and Consumer Experience at Blueport Commerce located in Boston. She is responsible for being the voice of the customer when structuring the immediate and long-term strategy for product development. She has consistently delivered optimized e-commerce experiences by identifying revenue enhancing opportunities within new and existing product lines. Cait has spent time at both small start-ups and large global organizations in product management, responsible for identifying and implementing the product strategy for e-commerce platforms. She has also worked for small divisions of Experian and Reed Elsevier, focusing on enhancing existing products and bringing new products to their respective markets. She obtained her MBA from Babson College. While at Babson, she has focused on entrepreneurship and innovation, paying particularly close attention to the start-up community. Currently, Cait is a volunteer for the BPMA Mentorship Program and is looking forward to continuing to grow the mentorship program.

Steve Robins
Director of Marketing

Steve Robins is the principal of Solution Marketing Strategies, a strategic marketing consultancy that helps companies to understand better and market to their customers through targeted research, segmentation, solutions, messaging, sales tools and demand generation. For the last 15 years, Steve Robins has been transforming technology firms into market-leading, customer-focused solution providers. Steve has held senior marketing roles at FirstBest Systems, EMC, Documentum, and KANA Software. An industry thought-leader, Steve started the top-rated solution marketing blog, writes a CMO-focused marketing tech column for TechTarget, helped grow ProductCamp Boston into the second largest such event in the world, and was an analyst at the Yankee Group.

David White

David White is a sales and marketing professional with both the passion and skill to help sales teams sell more. His career spans companies big and small and encompasses a knowledge of many industries. For example, David has fulfilled sales and marketing roles with Oracle, IBM Cognos, Progress Software, Dimensional Insight and Telseon. Most recently he worked as a research analyst focused on the business intelligence and analytics market for both the Aberdeen Group and the ARC Advisory Group.
