Leading Agile Teams With More Strategic Market Requirements

With expert practitioner John Mansour, founder and managing partner at Proficientz

Many Agile teams are proficient at writing user stories and executing sprints, but are they delivering solutions that have strategic customer value? In this workshop, you’ll learn how to create market-facing themes, epics and user stories to drive your roadmaps and backlogs. You’ll learn how to integrate them seamlessly with Agile processes and define MVPs based on user stories instead of features. You’ll lean how to work collaboratively with other product teams to adopt common views of the customer and deliver higher impact solutions with strategic value.

This workshop addresses these common scenarios:

  • You’re making the transition from waterfall to Agile.
  • You’re good at getting tactical user stories through the sprints, but there’s no big-picture market focus driving those user stories.
  • There’s confusion or overlap between the product manager and product owner roles.
  • Upstream strategy and product planning processes are not integrated into Agile development processes.

  • Hands-on techniques for creating market-facing themes, epics and user stories.
  • Process flows for integrating upstream product management activities (who, what & why) into downstream Agile processes (how).
  • How to define your MVP with “business” user stories instead of features or “product” user stories.
  • How to lead an inception planning meeting that showcases your market knowledge.

Fees include a copy of the workshop materials and a mid-morning snack.
